Newt is the gift that just keeps on giving. The last couple of weeks have been wonderfully entertaining. The Republicans seem to be in disarray and a state of indecision. Three States and three winners. What seemed to be the insurmountable lead of Romney, has turned into a free for all. The inevitability of Romney is a fading expectation. It seems as though the Republicans are doing everything to make life more pleasant for Democrats. It seems that what had appeared to be a steep hill for Obama to climb towards reelection is now leveling off and beginning to look much more positive for Obama.
However, for those who think the Republican spectacle creates a sure thing for Obama, wake up. The road ahead for Obama is filled with obstacles and pitfalls. Not only is the economy still a major issue, but a continually right trending electorate compounds the challenge. To make things even more challenging, the enthusiasm generated by Obama in 2008 does not seem to be present in 2012.
Am I saying that Obama will loose in 2012? No, I believe he will win. But it is anything but a sure thing. The Republican circus may make them appear to be a lost cause, but don’t be lulled into complacency. They will run a very strong and ruthless campaign. They truly believe that the future of the Country is in jeopardy and cannot take another four years of Obama. I believe that the country is in jeopardy as a result of eight years of Bush and cannot take another Republican President before Obama and the Democrats can finish cleaning up the Bush mess. Don’t get lazy when the future is at stake. Don’t figure that someone else will pick up the slack. Enjoy the Republican show, but when push comes to shove get off your sofa and join me to make sure the Republicans lose the House, and that the Democrats keep the White House and the Senate.
